This was and still is a difficult project for me. It was one of the first 3D models that I modified (unfortunately I can't find where I got the original model from anymore), and includes electronics and music.
I am in the process of creating proprietry electronics and will update this once he has been upgraded.
1812 originally had a RC car driving him round, with LEDs in the eyes. As it turned out, the shell was far too heavy for the RC car to turn properly so I had to rethink. I ended up buying an RC digger that had the added bonus of a motor that worked the differ arm, this meant I was able to control his gripper using that, and the tank treads meant the weight wasn't as much of an issue. The music was provided by a reprogrammable doorbell wedged inside. Unfortunately the range of the RC tank controller was pitiful, so currently 1812 sits as a deks ornament until I re-work the electronics using arduino.
